Spend a Weeked at the Royal Decameron Hotel

For a great weekend getaway from Panama City, try the Royal Decameron Resort Hotel. Near the city of Fallaron on Panama’s Pacific Coast, the Royal Decameron is a ninety-minute drive by car from Panama City.

The Royal Decameron Resort Hotel is located on Playa Blanca, a white sand beach with gentle waves. The Royal Decameron Resort Hotel sells “all included” packages, less expensive for Panamanians than foreigners, but still a great deal for the traveler. The package includes eating at your choice of eight restaurants and cocktails in any of six bars.

Besides lounging on the beach, Royal Decameron Resort Hotel has a pool, massage parlor, laundry service, and bicycles. They can help you arrange the next leg of your trip, or assist you with more exotic local options such as a day of deep-sea fishing.  Rental cars, motorbikes and jet skis are available also.

The rooms at Royal Decameron Resort Hotel all have your own private balcony. The hotel also offers safety deposit boxes for your valuables.

Prices run around $150 a night for a double room. As Panama goes from its dry season to rainy season, around May first, room rates will decrease. Be sure to ask when the change occurs.

Don’t worry about the rainy season.  The Pacific Coast of Panama gets less rain than the interior or Caribbean. Fallaron is on the edge of the Arco Seca, which is Panama’s dryer land and breadbasket. Rain usually occurs mid- afternoon with a brief, but impressive, downpour followed by sun and drying of sidewalks and pavement before sunset.

All in all, Decameron is a restful getaway in a tropical paradise. The problem with Decameron is that all that beauty and rest could become addicting!
