The Hillside Design of the Royal Decameron Resort is Lovely!
Posted on Dec 22, 2011 in Activities, Hotel Services, Restaurant, Royal Decameron Hotels“We enjoyed this resort and would recommend it to anyone looking for sand, sun, relaxation and fun,” said one happy traveler, after visiting the Royal Decameron.
Yet another guest noted, “I swear that the buzzards were waiting for someone to die climbing that damn hill.” Responded a gentleman, “The hill: Yes, the resort is on a hill. The path that takes you from the pool – block 23 and 17 to the beach is the least steep one of all hill paths on the resort, and has no steps. My mom found this path very manageable compared to the multitude of stairs near the show area. That said, there are a multitude of free shuttle vans and golf carts that go on different routes along the resort, so if you prefer to be chauffeured, it’s a do-able option.”
“We ate at 6 of the 8 a la carte restaurants. Fusion and Cayugo grill were disappointing. The Thai, Japanese, Club Med and Catch of the Day were delicious. This resort has an odd shared seating rule, which means that if the a la carte restaurant is busy, you will be seated with another couple. Luckily we had nice couples at our table each time. There are 3 buffet restaurants and all are good,” remembered a senior duo.
“For an afternoon flight departure, buses departed from the resort every 15 minutes between 8:30 and 9:45 am. You are not assigned a specific departure time so it is first come first served; which results in being in line for anywhere up to one hour awaiting your turn to get on the bus. Then the 2 hour bone shaking ride back to the airport for the long flight home,” moaned one traveler, hoping for a better option.
